I was born and raised here on Oʻahu, where my journey with birth and the wonder of the female body began at the tender age of eight. I can still vividly recall the awe I felt while watching my younger sister enter the world and the sheer amazement at a woman's strength, resilience, and power even in one of her most vulnerable moments in life. Since then, I have marveled at the wonders of the female body and brain.  

Stepping into womanhood brought me many life-changing experiences, including giving birth to my own four children. It was my children's lives that brought me a doula (who would be with me for all their births!) and it was my doula who sparked a desire to support other mamas and families as she did mine.  

During my doula training, I learned my own birth story. Listening to my mom describe how alone, unsupported, unheard, and unaware my mom felt during my birth further stoked my desire to uplift and empower other mamas. I can't imagine birth stories without doulas! 

Now that my children are grown and on their own adventures, it is the perfect time for me to fully immerse myself in this magical journey and I am looking forward to what aligns next!
